Local-first tools that run on your machine, not in the cloud.
AFKSecurity is the home of the software built by David Maus. Each tool is a real Windows product, live on-screen translation, clipboard privacy, an autonomous virtual entity, and a cybersecurity agent, designed to run entirely on your computer, with no cloud dependency and no telemetry.
Four tools, one local-first approach.
Three are available now! the AFKSecurity agent is in active development. Each product has its own site with full details, trial and purchase.
AFKLiveTranslate 2
Automatic real-time translation of any on-screen text, read locally and painted as a clean overlay, ultra-light, near-zero GPU load.
AFKClipboardGuard
Stops apps and websites from silently reading your clipboard, and keeps sensitive copied data from leaking, before it becomes a leak.
Vaudryllis
An autonomous virtual entity (EVA) that runs 100% on your machine: cognitive substrate, binocular visual perception, local voice, memory and continuity. Version 0.8.0, published 26 August 2026.
AFKSecurity
A Windows protection agent built entirely on substrate technology (everything but the UI): a continuously active protective presence in memory, ransomware-aware detection, YARA rules and safe quarantine, engineered to be resilient and hard to disable or bypass, working alongside your antivirus. Currently in active development.
Built on substrate technology.
Across the products, the same principle applies: keep an active state in memory while the program runs, and do the work locally.
Active in-memory state
Products maintain a live, active state while they run, instead of relying only on static data and one-off calls.
100% local & offline
Perception, processing and results stay on your machine. No cloud service, and nothing is uploaded.
Hardware-aware
GPU acceleration is used where it genuinely helps (NVIDIA / AMD / Intel), staying light on resources.
Private by design
No telemetry and no user-data collection. Signed installers with verifiable integrity (SHA-256 + VirusTotal).
